Every Jump Counts: Be Part of Emery’s Skating Journey

Dedication. Resilience. Authentic.

The Challenge: A High-Cost, Low-Support Sport

Figure skating is one of the most demanding winter sports, both physically and financially and requires consistent investment in:

  • Ice time and private coaching sessions

  • Off-ice training, ballet and gym

  • Choreography, costumes and equipment

  • Memberships, competition, and official test fees

  • Development camps and training programs

  • Travel and accommodation for competitions and training

  • Physiotherapy and athlete recovery

In Australia, there is no government funding for athletes at the development level. Following the upcoming closure of Sydney’s only Olympic-sized ice rink (Macquarie Ice Rink), Emery is seeking opportunities to train interstate or overseas to access elite facilities.

Immediate Goal: Qualifying for States & Nationals Championships

Emery is currently preparing to qualify for the upcoming State and National Figure Skating Championships. These events demand significant investment in both preparation and participation. Support from sponsors will directly contribute to:

  • Club and state association memberships

  • Competition registration and entry fees

  • Official test fees to remain eligible for competition

  • Program choreography and custom costuming

  • Travel and accommodation for events

Sponsorship will directly fund these essentials, ensuring Emery can focus on performance - not financial pressure.

Urgent Opportunity: Ice Dance Tryout in Boston, USA

In early May, Emery received an invitation to try out for an Ice Dance partnership in Boston, USA - An opportunity that could launch international training and representation. However, this cannot proceed without immediate funding for:

  • Passport and visa application fees

  • Airfare and travel insurance

  • Accommodation and transport

Without support, this milestone opportunity may be lost.

Estimated Annual Costs

Competitive figure skating at the elite level requires significant financial investment. The estimated grand total is $27,570 AUD. Below is a breakdown of Emery's projected annual expenses for the 2025 season:
